One photo saying sooo much

Makes each fussy day worth it. Cheyanne's BEAUTIFUL smile.

Love,
A mommy with warm fuzzies inside after capturing this picture.

So what does a hillbilly look like exactly?

When asked why he proceeded to cut his own beautifully blonde, curly hair, Elijah replied,"I don't know...do I look like a hillbilly now?" I will say no more.

Little Sister Blues

There is no doubt about the fact that at only a sweet six weeks old, Cheyanne is a total mama's girl. She is just not content unless I am holding, snuggling, rocking, or carrying her. This leaves five sets of arms that are just reaching and pleading, "Can I hold Cheyanne?" This is a sure fire way to upset Cheyanne...allowing someone else to hold her. WAAAAAAAAAAAH! My children are the best mommy's helpers and Cheyanne does not agree. I am sure she will calm down a bit over the next few weeks once she settles into our crazy routine, but until the picture above is a common sight around the Ferguson home.

Big Jobs for Little People

Rich has been working with the boys at gaining more responsibility helping out around the home. Dante has been an awesome helper for quite some time now. I think it is a relief to him to see that his brothers are tackling some "bigger people" chores, too. They do a great job of encouraging one another to be better helpers. Last night Rich was training Elijah how to clean the kitchen floor after supper. Because our kitchen is pretty small, it gets really messy and sticky each day. This is one household duty that I do make an effort to keep up with. It never dawned on me that one of the children could tackle this chore. Isn't it wonderful that God has wired our husbands to offer such a unique perspective on things even as "trivial" as clean kitchen floors? So, Rich give Elijah a rag and a squirt bottle filled with cleaner and sets him on a "cleaning path." As I walk past the kitchen I make a remark to Elijah about what a super job he is doing and he says, "Mommy, I am cleaning patch by patch (tile to tile) because this is a mighty big job for a 4 year old. " After a full 30 minutes, I am absolutely sure that my kitchen floor has never looked better.

My boys are going to make such wonderful husbands some day.

Big green Soothie

So we look at these little ones as they are fussing and fussing and fussing and fussing and fussing and we wonder, "What can I do for you?" "What can I give you?" "What am I doing wrong?" Well, Cheyanne looked at me this afternoon and she said, "Mommy, I do not like the Nuk brand of pacifier that you keep shoving in my mouth. Actually, I would prefer a big green soothie pacifier." Ahhhhh, I feel an odd sense of relief having 2 of these artificial nipples floating around my home. hmmmm??

Simple Fun

Justus and Izzie decided to cool off this afternoon by filling up the baby pool. They had so much fun just playing in the little pool with the slide. Justus was sliding down the slide and then dipping his face in the water. He was shouting, "Mom, I went underwater." He must have done it 100 times.

She smiles !!

Yes, you read it. Cheyanne smiled at me on her one month birthday. My heart melted. Her smile is as beautiful as she is. She has been focusing on my face more over the past week or so. I had her lying on my bed after changing her 900th diaper of the day. As I told her how incredibly pretty she was, she gave me the sweetest smile. There is just no describing these priceless moments.

Cowgirl Up

Just wanted to post a few pictures of our newest addition to the "Cowboy Crew." I found these cute little pink cowgirl boots at the Goodwill for $1.50 and couldn't resist. I think Dante was more excited than Izzie. It took a few minutes to squeeze her chunky calves in them, but we did it. Once she was wearing them, she did not want to take them off. Dante and Elijah said they are going to put their money together and buy Izzie a Cowgirl Hat.

Pink Potty? Oh yes!

Isabella gave me the greatest justifiable excuse to start buying everything PINK. I even painted my bathroom pink. :O) I ran across this pink potty seat at the Anderson's store AND it was 25% off. How could you go wrong with a pink potty seat? Um, YOU CAN'T. I am just loving watching Rich love on these little girls. I never ever thought he would turn into such a sweet softy so quickly. He simply cannot get enough of them. He calls them his little ladies. I am pretty sure he is digging the pink potty chair, too. Just wanted to share.
