Lil' Miss Multi personality

So, I was so excited to spot Isabella trying to knit with a needle and yarn yesterday. She was so intent on trying to figure out how to get them to stay together. It is just so wonderful that despite her 3 older, bigger, tougher brothers who run around all day shooting, punching, jumping, screaming, etc. that she was choosing the delicate path. How sweet.

Well, this morning I walk around the corner to see her actually shooting Dante with an airgun. Yup, making the pow pow noises and all. Phooey. Okay, so maybe we do need to start rooting for another girl.

The Pizza Business

We usually have some sort of "family night" on Fridays to wrap up our crazy week. The kids decided that they wanted to make their own pizzas tonight. WHEW...sometimes Little Ceasar's $5.00 Hot and Ready seems way too easy. Anyway, they had a lot of fun and decided that they wanted to go into the Pizza Business. Isabella figured she could participate by sampling each pie that came out of the oven. Enjoy the photos.

An Heirloom

I always thought it was so neat when people owned furniture that belonged to an ancestor of theirs. I love looking at things that have a story. I am not into material things, but that sort of stuff fascinates me. I am definitely a visual person. When Rich and I left our homes in Pennsylvania and set out on our own over 10 years ago, my mom offered me her rocking chair. This chair was her great grandmother's. Let me tell you though, that it was one "disco-groovy" looking piece of furniture. So, I have carted this chair around the 7 times we have moved in the last 10 years and always hidden it in a basement or under a quilt. For my 33rd birthday last month, my sweet husband and dear mother decided to have get a total overhaul on "the chair." We were able to pick it up today and I wanted to share a photo. I was wishing that I had some before photos. I will have to check with mom. This is such a lovely addition to my home.

Thank you Rich and mom for my first heirloom. I cannot wait to be able to pass it along to one of my children.

Knitted camo scarves

I have recently been able to start crocheting again. There are times when I will go for months crocheting every evening and then will take a huge break. Well, the boys saw this camoflauge yarn at the store and decided that they needed new scarves. I wanted to share a picture of Elijah's scarf. It turned out super cute and he was SO EXCITED to have it in time for the cold weather they are calling for this weekend.

Also, one of my girlfriend's daughter turned me on to the idea of knitting, so stay tuned for my first knitted scarf. Would like to have that completed before the 90 degree weather hits Virginia.
